The property
Alfred Gratien founded the house of the same name in 1864. Located in the heart of Champagne, the Alfred Gratien house, located in Ã…pernay, has relied on a strict selection of grapes, vinification in barrels and a limit to preserve the original character of the terroir and to express the freshness of its wines.
The know-how of the House of Champagne Alfred Gratien has been passed on from father to son for several generations and contributes to the unique style of every cuvée.
The vineyard
Alfred Gratien watches over a vineyard of 1.56 hectares, classified as the Grands Crus and Premiers Crus, and is located in two emblematic terroirs of Champagne, the Cote des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims. The house complements its grapes supply with acquisitions at around 60 winemakers who have been loyal to the house for generations.
The wine
As a tribute to the great years of Champagne, the Collection Memory offers the opportunity to discover the greatest vintages of Alfred Gratien. These rare bottles are stored in the Alfred Gratien-Vinothek in the cellars of the house and mature for over 20 years before they come to light. The bottles of the Collection Memory, which testify to a preserved know-how and are only provided with a vintage, embody the expression of Alfred Gratien’s style with their fineness and generosity.

In 1996, the largest vintage of the last century is considered to be the house of Alfred Gratien and is characterized by the power, finesse and aromatic intensity of the wines he has produced.
