An antique champagne cooler made for the now defunct G. CHAUVET house in Reims around the 1930s.
The champagne cooler bears the inscription G. CHAUVET FRÈRES REIMS CHAMPAGNE.
The handles are richly decorated with grape clusters and vine leaves.
On the bottom is the maker’s stamp Modele Déposé ARGIT PARIS.
This charming piece is in the style of the early 1900s and was probably originally silver plated. However, the silvering has completely worn off over the century.
Signs of use are clearly visible, signs of wear, creasing see photos.
It will be delivered as shown „dans son jus”, i.e. without restoration to its original, current condition.
The choice is up to the buyer whether or not to polish it, for example.
