The prestigious Champagne house De Venoge, founded in Épernay in 1837, is known for its innovations. In 1838, they created the first-ever colorful, illustrated Champagne emblem, marking a milestone in branding history. Since 1851, their iconic *Cordon Bleu*—the Blue Ribbon—has symbolized the house, inspired by the Venoge River and the Order of the Holy Spirit, a distinguished French chivalric order.
This rare oval Champagne cooler, crafted around 1940, is a masterpiece of brass (‘vasque à champagne’), mounted elegantly on a pedestal.
Its polished copper exterior gleams in pristine, spotless condition, with both sides engraved with “De Venoge Champagne Épernay.” The most striking feature is its unique oval design, encompassing both the body and the pedestal—a rarity that exudes elegance and refinement.
The cooler is fully intact, watertight, and free of dents or holes, retaining its original form despite being over 80 years old. Its sophisticated shape suggests it once graced the dining table of a grand château.
